Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just took a huge public stand for free speech and it pretty much went unnoticed in the press . It may not sound like much, but in diplomatic circles it was a slap down worthy of a pay per view event. Let’s review a little background first so the importance of her comment is in context; I will keep it brief.
The Islamic world is under great scrutiny globally as people and countries awaken to the threat from Islamists. You see and hear the questioning and criticism from a broad spectrum of sources; from average citizens to world leaders. The uncomfortable fact for many is that what is being questioned is Islam itself. Not the pray to Allah part, but everything else that goes with it. The world is asking questions, reading the underlying documents of Islam, comparing the written words to history and actions, and listening to the words of current leaders in the Islamic world.
There is fear in those who look closely and with open eyes and minds; a rational fear that Islamists have labeled as “Islamaphobia” to silence the questioners. But people keep asking questions, keep looking deeper, and they are criticizing what they learn. People are learning about Jihad, stealth Jihad, submission, Jizya, Taqiya, the Muslim Brotherhood, Caliphates, honor killings, slavery, the perverse background of Mohamed, the brutality against women, the slaughter of Jews and Christians, the goals of Sharia, and all of the other pieces that you are not supposed to know about. They are learning, questioning, and criticizing. People fully support Muslims praying to their god and living by the peaceful portions of the Qur’an, but they have gotten a glimpse of the non-peaceful parts, and the parts that compel Muslims to force non believers into submission to Islam, by force if necessary. And, they see the words playing out in actions in Islamic countries.
The questioning has to stop. The criticism has to stop. For it is written. Blasphemy is being committed by anyone who criticizes. It is criminal!
And that was the point of a conference last week that sought to criminalize the criticism of Islam throughout the world. Let me emphasis that last phrase Criminalize Criticism Of Islam. You can wrap it up with all sorts of fancy words and titles about protecting religious freedoms, but criminalizing criticism was the point of the conference with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
If you cannot defend your beliefs and actions, you must stop people from asking questions and talking about them; at least until you have dominated their society and governments. This tactic is used in the Middle East to control dissent and expand Islamic influence, and it is being forced upon much of Europe; political correctness and fear being the tactic’s best friends.
This is where Hillary took a public stand. The Daily Caller reports on the event here, but downplays the significance of the public rebuke in my opinion. Hillary took a very public stand on a very controversial issue, and we should acknowledge and applaud her courage and the wisdom of her actions. The translation of her remark into civilian speak is ‘If you don’t have anything to hide, you should not have to worry about the criticism’. She understands!
And all of those other words and concepts I listed in this article, I will let you research them yourself, while it is still legal.

MYWTF BLOG. Good overview. I agree at some point the left starts to think perhaps a tipping point has been reached in some areas. Refreshing to see her “stand” up even if she could not use the word Islam in her speech.
