I am referring to the War on Religion, the War on Christianity, and the War on Christmas. Chuck Norris writes a great article about the federal government’s complicity in these wars, and the escalation of these wars under the current administration. I anxiously await part two of his series as he lays out his ideas for combating this war in our homes and in country.
I will not pretend to know what is in Chuck’s mind as he writes this, so what follows is my personal view on the basis for this undeclared war on our Nation.
There is a commonality to all of these wars which is the removal of moral absolutes from our society. The religions targeted require adherence to a set of moral codes that are quite clear, and the institutions being targeted are reminders of the foundation of those religions. If the argument focuses too closely on attacks on Christmas, people will miss the real motives of those that wish to weaken our society through the removal of clearly defined standards.
And weakening our society from within is the common objective. Whether for personal gain, or in concert with others of similar agendas, the removal of moral standards is a necessary step in the devolution of the strong ideals that cemented our citizens into a nation. If you are a returning reader of this blog, you know our feelings about the groups working together to threaten our country; if you are new, we will let you use your instincts to identify those who would gain from the effort.
I am Christian, specifically, I am Catholic by the traditions of my family, my education, and my free will. But I am also an American who understands that our country was created, and thrived, upon freedom and the values of Christianity and Judaism. There are difficult absolutes required by those religions, absolutes that also provide a strong foundation upon which to build a nation. There is no ambiguity in a statement such as Thou Shall Not Steal, or Though Shall Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor; and yet, every attack is designed to create ambiguity or institute situational moralities.
Think back on the incremental attacks that have outraged you in the past; removal of the Ten Commandments from public places, arguments over In God We Trust, wishing people a Merry Christmas, or removing support from institutions like the Boy Scouts. Every one of the stories that come to mind is based on removing from public awareness, the ideals that require absolute values and judgments.
I applaud Chuck Norris for his outspoken stance on this war, and I look forward to his contributions to the fight in the future. The point of my rambling today is to direct your thought toward the concept that there is a declared war here, there is an enemy, there is an intended goal, and there will be a loser. I will leave you to contemplate the details of my last statement and identify each.

Smart move in not pretending to know what is in Chuck Norris’ mind…you would be putting yourself in danger of a roundhouse kick to the face.
Chuck Norris once sent Jesus a birthday card on Dec 25th, and it wasn’t Jesus’ birthday. He was too scared to correct Chuck Norris and to this day December 25 is known as Jesus’ birthday.
Do not laugh, there is no such thing as a Chuck Norris joke, only Chuck Norris facts.
