“These Jews are a cancer in the body of planet earth, getting rid of them is a must.” These are the words of an Egyptian cleric who apparently did not get the memo about diversity and religious acceptance from the UN. Watch this video clip if you want to know how hard line Islamic leaders view Jews. Yes, the video is real and the translation is correct, be prepared to be shocked at the clarity of his message.
Somehow, urging Muslims to kill Jews as commanded by the Prophet does not seem like a politically correct message coming from a cleric. But wait, I thought the Koran only contained peaceful teachings; this cleric is quoting verses that justify killing Jews as part of a final war that Muslims must fight. Based upon the presentation of this message, I somehow doubt that Egyptians living in the ‘Arab Spring’ are ready to be friendly neighbors with Israel. Call me cynical, but peace is not at hand.
To continue with my sarcasm, I am sure ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN will be doing a special on this cleric’s message in the near future so that Americans can gain another perspective on Islamophobia in the world.
