WTF To Host Presidential Debate

That headline will only appear on this site, at least for this election cycle; but, as I have learned from my liberal friends, never let a fact stand in the way of a good article.  With that disclaimer out of the way, we have decided to produce our own Republican Presidential debate.

Here is how this is going to work: we will provide a transcript of the debate questions from our staff and our behind the scenes advisers.  As soon as this article is posted, we will send the link to each campaign so that they can provide official responses to the questions if they wish.  Our expectation for responses is low, but we feel that our list of questions is vital to the selection process for conservatives.  This election cycle is far too important to rely on questions intended to divide and destroy candidates; we need hard questions that explore answers to the difficult issues that will be faced by the next President.

Without any further build up, let’s get started!

MODERATOR:  Thank you for attending this evening.  Here are the ground rules for the debate: This debate is designed to reveal your  position on the following questions and not your position on the other candidate’s position.  Your microphone will be cut off if you resort to attacks on other candidates.  Please respond fully to the question without straying off topic with prepared talking points.  By following these rules, each candidate will have unlimited time to explain their positions; you will however be cut off when you stray off the topic addressed by the question presented.

Tonight’s debate will be divided into two parts; foreign policy and domestic policy.  We will warm up with questions on domestic issues first.

MODERATOR: What specific steps would you take to repair the division that exists between the citizens of the country?

MODERATOR: It appears that our Nation lacks the understanding of sacrifice.  What specific efforts will you undertake to foster an understanding that being a citizen of the United States requires a sacrifice from all citizens?

MODERATOR: We are a nation built upon the economic model of capitalism.  Please explain capitalism and provide your best argument for maintaining this system for the country.  As a follow up question, please explain how profits are beneficial to the overall health of the economy.

MODERATOR: Conservatism espouses personal responsibility and the elimination of dependency through smaller government.  How would you explain the choices you will have to make as President to the portion of the country that has grown accustomed to handouts?

MODERATOR: Which federal programs or departments do you consider unconstitutional and what steps would you employ to eliminate them?

MODERATOR: Please describe how you would motivate companies and industries to return their operations to the US.

MODERATOR: Under your presidency, what specific changes would you make to our national energy policy in the short term and then the long term?  How would your administration encourage the development of alternate energy sources?

MODERATOR: If elected President, the health insurance industry will be in a state of chaos by the time of your inauguration, due to the uncertainty of national policy direction.  What specific steps would you take to stabilize this uncertain industry while ObamaCare is dismantled?

MODERATOR: Today is your first day as President in the Oval Office; name three specific policies or programs you would change or eliminate today to generate jobs.

MODERATOR: Our last domestic question of the night is: what criteria will you use in selecting the next Supreme Court Justice if a vacancy occurs during your term.  Please identify the Court’s decision that you disagree most with and explain why the decision was flawed.

MODERATOR: This concludes the portion of our debate concerning domestic policy?  Our next segment will be foreign policy and national security.  Please adhere to the guidelines previously established.

MODERATOR: Please describe the similarities in tactics and responsibilities between the violence created by the drug cartels in Mexico, and the killing of Christians in Nigeria.

MODERATOR: Do you believe that a 21 Century Ottoman Empire, or an Islamic Caliphate, is on the rise in Northern Africa and the Middle East?  Please describe your reasons for either supporting or denying this assertion.

MODERATOR: Do you consider the concept of an Axis of Evil valid?  If so, please list the countries involved and their relations; and if not, please describe the reasons for the support and alliances we see between nations that are rumored to be part of this Axis.

MODERATOR: Do you consider Islam to be a religion, a cultural and political ideology, or a combination of the two?  How will your understanding of the issue shape the way you formulate your national security policy in the Middle East, with NATO, in South and Central America, and within our borders?

MODERATOR: Is the US threatened by Islamic terror groups based in Mexico and Central and South America.  If your answer is yes, how will you design your policies to either work with and support Mexico, or completely seal our border to isolate the threat crossing our border.

MODERATOR: Under your administration, what standards will be applied in evaluating foreign aid payments?

MODERATOR: As Commander in Chief, would you authorize the torture of an American citizen if you were convinced they held information about an imminent biological or nuclear attack on the country?  If yes, what criteria would you apply to the decision?  If no, how would you justify and explain the death of thousands of citizens if the attack was successful?

MODERATOR: The current administration is restructuring our military forces due to budget constraints and evaluation of future threats and future war scenarios.  Which proposed changes do you support, and why?  What specific changes in the restructuring would you make to adjust our forces to secure our nation from the future threats as you understand them?

MODERATOR: The world contains threats that were never anticipated by our Founders; cyber attacks, attacks on economies, NBC attacks (nuclear, biological, chemical) from terror groups both internally embedded and operating outside of our borders.  Which freedom guaranteed by our Constitution would you be willing to suspend in your effort to protect our Nation from these threats, and how would you articulate this to the citizens so that they see  the choices as you understand them?

MODERATOR: Here is our last question for the debate tonight.  If you knew an enemy was plotting imminent attacks against our country, but the evidence is not available to, or understood by the people, would you preemptively attack our enemy and face the political attacks at home and in the international community, or would you allow small scale attacks against us to occur so that you can build political consensus?

MODERATOR: This concludes the WTF Presidential Debate for 2012; your answers have given Republican voters a better understanding of your ideas for governing our country.  Goodnight.

Great idea….. great questions… submit them to NBC (no body cares) and CBS (Can’t beat Squat) and CNN (Croney Nothing News) Actually I bet you could get the campaigns to answer the questions and then post them on your blog you would get a lot of hits on your site.
